To use one of the RetroFE themes listed below, begin by downloading and extracting its associated ZIP file. With the FunKey S mounted to your computer, first copy and paste the generated folder into the ''/mnt/FunKey/.retrofe/layouts'' section of the FunKey S file system. Next, open the ''layouts.list'' file (also located in ''/mnt/FunKey/.retrofe/layouts'') in a text editor and add the name of the theme to the theme list (if the theme's folder is called ''Retro'', for instance, add ''Retro'' to the theme list). OnceIf thisyou isdon't done, eject the FunKey S and navigate tosee the ''SET THEME.retrofe'' section of the RetroFE menu. To make the new theme appear on the theme listfolder, switch RetroFE to a different theme than the current one. Once you return to the theme list after this, the new theme will be listed alongside the default ones. If your devicecomputer's screenUnix-based goesoperating black upon changing to the new theme, theresystem is anhiding issue with that theme'shidden filesfolders. To removeenable the theme,viewing andof thussuch allowfolders the device to default to the Classicon themeMacOS, begin by bootinguse the device into recovery mode by closing it, reopening it, and immediately pressing down the FN and Start buttons simultaneously until the FunKey S logo and a wrench and screwdriver icon appears on the screen. Once you see the word ''INFOShift+Cmd+Period'' inkey the top left corner, press the down button once to change it to ''USB MOUNT''combination. Once the device is closed and reopened once more, it will boot back into RetroFE, defaulting to the Classic themeoption.
