The FunKey S supports the RTC functionalities used by Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance games, such as Harvest Moon GBC, Pokemon Crystal, and Pokemon Emerald. It does this by siphoning an extremely small amount of charge from the FunKey S battery, allowing games that employ the feature to keep track of time. RTC functionality is still preserved even if the FunKey S is turned off or runs out of charge, as there is a buffer of charge perseveredresevered for such an instance. To best make use of the RTC feature, it is recommended that users save in-game, as save states and automatic FunKey S saves can affect the RTC timing of games.
