Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening everyone; we hope you're doing awesome! 🤘 It's already been two weeks since our last update, so it's time to freshen things up! Just yesterday we launched a [https://funkey-project.myshopify.com/products/funkey-s new store page] where all future FunKey S orders will be handled. While BackerKit served us well as a means of handling pre-orders after our Kickstarter campaign, switching to this new platform has brought us several improvements, including reduced shipping costs for multi-unit orders! On the subject of shipping, we're glad to announce that shipment of last month's production batch has finally begun! Tracking information for each of these devices will be sent to backers within a few days of their postage. We'd also like to thank our remaining backers for their continued patience and understanding as we've announced shipping delays in previous updates. While the manufacturer is still awaiting delivery of the essential V3S processor component, devices are being partially assembled ahead of time so that shipment can occur soon after the processors arrive. Thanks for checking in again this week, and we'll get back to you when we have more info to share!

Welcome to another ''FunKey News'' update; we hope you've been doing well! As we've been very busy since our last update, we'll take some time today to go over what we've been working on, starting off with a topic that many people have been discussing: production!

While we understand that it's been a long time for some of you, there's no need to worry; production is running smoothly, with this month's batch of PCBAs having been both manufactured and validated. By the end of next week the device assembly process will finish, with shipping still expected to occur this month. As this batch only includes 1,500 devices, only the oldest unfulfilled orders will be fulfilled this month (with the associated backers receiving tracking information after the shipment process begins 😉). For subsequent orders, we currently expect an unfortunate three-week delay that will likely push shipment of the May batch into June. For many reasons, not just Covid-19, global manufacturing capabilities are currently limited, with several components needed for FunKey S production affected as well. While we've been able to source alternate components in most cases, as this cannot be done for the V3S processor that powers the FunKey S, we've had to incur the previously mentioned three-week delay to wait for another shipment of the processors. While we're doing our best to shorten the delay as much as possible, we thought it was best to share the unfortunate news with you as soon as possible 🥺.

In other news, we have released [https://github.com/FunKey-Project/FunKey-OS/releases/tag/FunKey-OS-2.2.0 a new version] of FunKey-OS! Changes made include the addition of button remapping capabilities, the implementation of .zip file support for additional emulators, and more consistent NES emulation. As usual, you can update your device to the new firmware version by putting the .fwu firmware update file in the root directory of the device, as demonstrated in [https://doc.funkey-project.com/user_manual/tutorials/software/firmware_update/ the associated tutorial] on our [https://doc.funkey-project.com/ documentation page]. If there are any questions you cannot find answers to on the documentation page or the FunKey Wiki, do not hesitate to hop on our community's [https://discord.gg/G9kCvjg Discord server] where many great people are ready to help you!
