In other news, the completed batch of 600 units will begin shipping out next week, meaning that tracking numbers for those devices will be sent out in the coming days. For more recently placed orders, we're glad to announce that production of the current in-progress batch of 5000 units is going well! As production continues, the estimating shipment window for these devices is currently between late July and early August, occurring in either one or several batches. Before we wrap things up, we'd like to congratulate our team leader, Vincent, on his upcoming marriage later this month! 💍 While neither production nor shipping will be delayed in the slightest, do not be surprised if the next update arrives a bit later than usual as the team takes a few days off to celebrate properly. 😄
While we understand that it's been a long time for some of you, there's no need to worry; production is running smoothly, with this month's batch of PCBAs having been both manufactured and validated. By the end of next week the device assembly process will finish, with shipping still expected to occur this month. As this batch only includes 1,500 devices, only the oldest unfulfilled orders will be fulfilled this month (with the associated backers receiving tracking information after the shipment process begins 😉). For subsequent orders, we currently expect an unfortunate three-week delay that will likely push shipment of the May batch into June. For many reasons, not just Covid-19, global manufacturing capabilities are currently limited, with several components needed for FunKey S production affected as well. While we've been able to source alternate components in most cases, as this cannot be done for the V3S processor that powers the FunKey S, we've had to incur the previously mentioned three-week delay to wait for another shipment of the processors. While we're doing our best to shorten the delay as much as possible, we thought it was best to share the unfortunate news with you as soon as possible 🥺.
