We're glad to announce that we have finally received the last component needed to continue; the Allwinner V3S processor! Now that we have all the required components, a large production run of 5,000 more FunKey S devices can now proceed. After a subsequent production run of several thousand more devices, not only will we have finished fulfilling all pre-orders, but we will have additional devices left over to enable us to fulfill future orders as they are placed. As always, we'll keep you informed about the state of this 5K production run in future updates.
Over the course of the past month we've been working on shipping out 1,500 devices, with 600 of these still awaiting shipment. As this shipment mainly fulfills orders placed in March and soon thereafter, any backer who placed their order within that time frame should keep an eye on their inbox for their tracking information. For subsequent orders, we're glad to announce that the wait for FunKey S microprocessors is nearly over! After several weeks of us waiting for news from our supplier, we now know that we will be receiving a complete shipment of microprocessors by the end of the month. While we're relieved to finally be receiving the final components needed to manufacture more devices and fulfill our remaining pre-orders, we'd like to apologize to the backers who've been waiting longer than initially expected for their devices. To answer a related question, shipment of these devices is expected to occur between the end of July and the middle of August, as several weeks will be needed to finish the device assembly process after the receipt of the microprocessors. Once this batch of devices is completed, however, we'll finally be able to not only fulfill all existing pre-orders, but also have additional units on hand to fulfill new orders as they are placed; no more waiting!
